EXCEL - can fill in all sorts of lists: 1, 2, 3; Mon, Tues; 9:00, 10:00; 15-Jan, 15-Feb; January, February.

Just type one or two entries in the list. Place your cursor on the dark black dot in the bottom right hand corner of the 2nd entry. When it appears as a small “+”drag the cursor (fill handle) down the column or across the row, and then release the mouse

button. You can also make your own custom list, such as a list of employees. Select the list. On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click Custom Lists. Click the Import button, and then click OK.

 

If you work with large lists of data in Excel, this tip will save you a lot of time. Select the cells in one column from the top of your list to the bottom. Make sure that all the blank cells in this selected range are the rows you want to delete. Press the F5 key on your keyboard (or select Edit, Goto). Select Special. Select the Blanks option and then OK. This will select all blank cells in the range you had previously selected. Now choose Edit, Delete, select the Entire Row option and then OK.

 

 

WORD - If you type a portion of your document in the wrong case, you won't have to retype it. You can highlight the text you would like to change. Then press the Shift + F3 shortcut key. It will change between sentence case, all caps, and all lowercase letters. Keep pressing the shortcut key until the font is in the desired case.
